The Siren Luo Xi was suddenly thrown to Earth. Apart from the drop-dead beautiful face and golden tail, she was as poor as a church mouse. When someone tricked her with “providing housing, food, and soaking in the water”, she immediately left with that person.
Later, the melon-eating people1 found that something was off with that showbiz newbie who was as beautiful as a witch……s-s-she didn’t make sense at all!

There were three most lively rumors in the capital city:
2. Reportedly, that “mermaid” loved young master Lu to the marrow of her bones. Her emotions run so deep they were doomed to be evanescent. She had to sing a lullaby to young master Lu every night.
3. Reportedly, the mermaid who quietly sang to Lu Hao Zi has fled away. Moreover, she has fled away after dumping Lu Hao Zhi.

The melon eating people: Young master Lu must have been heartless and done something contemptible to the other party.
Then, one day, people suddenly found that young master Lu’s “mermaid” and that Luo Xi from showbiz is who was as beautiful as a witch was the same person!
Everyone mocked: Didn’t you say before that you don’t like her? Pah! Play. Just play.
Lu Hao Zhi: Uhm. It’s delicious2.
Translator’s notes:
This one is actually not a book review but a new translation project. Originally, I didn’t plan on taking any projects but this one was quite light-hearted, funny and enjoyable so I couldn’t resist. In addition, I wanted to train a bit my translation skills for modern setting as, up till now, I’ve mostly translated ancient c-novels. Hope that you guys will find it as a good read ^^
Translation notes:
[1] Melon-eating people is a Chinese buzzword referring to Chinese netizens/onlookers or a group of Internet users catching up with top searches or fresh events at their free time and actively getting involved into public discussions on social platforms. They are always enthusiastic about digging out the truth of any event, always keeping a strong gossip heart, and roasting to the public (source)
[2] It’s delicious is a Chinese buzzword which means that at first, you don’t like something but after you try it, you change your mind completely (source)

Hi mochipan ^^
TBIC is my main translation project so I won’t drop it. I think that TBSGD serves more like a side project to help me relax and not get wearied by translating TBIC as TBIC requires me a lot of researching for ancient political titles, items, customs, etc. Though, I’m enjoying both of them.
