Unexpectedly, this hoodlum was not an ordinary hoodlum. When outside, he was adept at acting brutish, beating and cursing people. Once at home, he would become a protective husband who is easy to keep. In their daily life after being married, the two quarrels and tease each other, mutually testing their bottom line. Two hearts gradually get closer. 

Review 

Time-traveling to ancient times and marrying a hoodlum is a story of an ordinary girl Shen Mu Mu who time-traveled, yet unlike most stories of this kind, she did not become a daughter of some prominent household nor did she turn into wife or concubine of a powerful lord. She woke up on her wedding day only to discover that her husband was actually a hoodlum! (Yup, don’t expect any twist like her husband will suddenly take some official post or turn out to be an illegitimate son of some nobleman cause that’s not gonna happen).

What was worse (maybe not that bad for FL) her husband, Xie Yu, left her alone on her wedding night, loudly voicing out his dissatisfaction with her.

What will Mu Mu do? Will she adapt into this era, accept her husband and her position or will she take it as a challenge and change her standing?

Out of all the books I wanted to review after so many years I started with this one because of the male lead. Not because he was strikingly handsome, could sweet-talk or that he pampered the female lead like a princess as….. he was none of the mentioned! The male lead was crude, ill-tempered, insensible, a macho guy with no manners who moreover did not know how to talk nicely. If people annoyed him, simple enough, he would raise his fits to speak for him. In his world, there was no such word as gentleness.

Although such an imperfect person seemed to not be an ideal life-companion, that was before he found himself a gentle and understanding bride who would gradually melt his heart! This macho of a guy, though couldn’t completely change his ways (had the urge to from time to time show his patriarchal side) he was still willing to adapt, to compromise and learn how to care and dote on his wife. A true man of action.

P.S. The female lead’s brother is so cute! Wish I had such brother lol. To be honest, he would make such a good doting husband in future if he treated his bride like his sister (Xie Yu should learn from him)!
