Transmigrating to become president’s first love《穿成总裁的初恋》by Bai Ri Shang Lou《白日上楼》

Synopsis

Tang Mi has always believed that she was Mary Sue with dozen admirers.

It wasn’t until she runs into an investor-daddy at a dinner party.

This daddy was precisely the first love she had snobbishly dumped back then.

The first love who had become a billionaire brazenly expressed: “The one behind my current accomplishments was my first girlfriend.”

Thanks to this, Tang Mi abruptly realized that she has transmigrated into a melodramatic, sadomasochistic little book she had read in the early years!

And she, Tang Mi, was the biggest female villain in the book. When the female lead goes online, she’d become plagued by an unlucky debuff and pressed against the ground while being chaffed by it!

Motherf*cker, how exciting.

Cheng Hao: I hate that I love you.

My rants

I really did enjoy this novel as it was the first of its kind I’ve read (by this I mean the entertainment industry novel genre). The female lead in this story is Tang Mi who was transmigrated into a book, which she was unaware of at first. While in university, she happened to take fancy to the book’s male lead, He Zheng Hao, and became an item with him. However, their relationship didn’t last long as she later one-sidedly broke up with him (the reasons are later revealed). The male lead, however, didn’t take this break-up well as he was in love with her.

Years later, she enters the entertainment industry, while he becomes a magnate with a new name Cheng Hao. Like in all the melodramas, their roads cross again and it seems that the spark between them has not died out yet. In order to give a little push to their romance, Tang Mi’s dad’s business goes bankrupt and he also runs into a huge debt (I’m sure the poor dad would be throwing a table at a corner if he learned that his business failure served to such purpose lol). Whom she turns to for help should go without saying.

What grabbed me the most in this novel was the male lead. Although he got all the usual traits of a CEO male lead, he still managed to distinguish himself from them by showing his more vulnerable side which we don’t often see in these male leads. In the story’s beginning, he was quite cold to the female lead. However, it was not for the purpose of a cold CEO image. It was due to him being afraid that the walls around his heart would shatter to pieces as he spends more and more time with her and that he would be hurt by her again. Throughout the story, my protective instincts were constantly being stirred and I really wanted to give a big hug to this strong yet also vulnerable man.

He’d be a breath of fresh air to you if you’re fed up with those ovearbearing CEOs 👍

I enjoy entertainment industry novels when they show the “behind the scenes” amount of hard work so I may look for this one. Recently, I’ve read the similar “Avoid the Protagonist!” but it takes a long while to find out why the lead is so cold/arrogant. Thanks for the review!

      You’re welcome, Humbledaisy ^^

I think we have similar tastes in novel. Apart from the hard work, I’d like to also read how the protagonists are progressing little by little in the novel. But sadly, for some reason (okay the reason is because they’re MLs), they always come up too OP in my opinion.
