Furou Kyoudai (“The Furou Siblings”) by Shiwasu Yuki

The story concentrates on the Furou siblings –  brother Daisuke and sister Kyouko. They refuse to leave each other’s side. Since kindergarden till high school they were always together. Before, as children, they were considered cute. Now they are plain weird in the eyes of their classmates as well as parents.

What’s so bad about holding hands with someone who brings peace into your life? What’s so wrong sleeping soundly in the same bed with a person you feel safe with? What’s so bad about going to toilet.. (・・? …together….. Bathing… in the same tub….. ( ̄□ ̄;)Oh, so that explain why their mother was so worried about their behaviour. I get it now!

However it sounds, this is not a story about forbidden love. Other way around. These twins have perfectly valid reason to act the way they do. Had I ever been in their situation, I would never give up my only ally in living horror.
Both of them are likely to be spirit mediums and are intruded by evil spirits on daily basis. Only way how to get rid of them is to hold hands, thus be together. Say, would you do otherwise if you were in their shoes being chased by some freaky thing?

Kyouko soon realize they can’t be like this their whole life. They missed on a lot of things. Daisuke never had his teeth knocked out by guy who likes Kyouko and she wants to see him one day in wedding gown suit. But can they really withstand to be alone?

I really loved Furou Kyoudai from art to humour. It was quite fresh reading to me and I found myself wishing there were more manga like this.

Originally, there were only two oneshots of this. One 16 pages long and other 40 pages long. They tell the same story but in each there are some differences. Even art slightly differ. I liked that the longer version had more of twins mother but I truly enjoyed reading both.

It was serialized so there are 5 chapters in total + 2 extras.
