Theme of todays post is warmth, humanity, heart and care. Because of that I decided to include song that makes me feel all this. “Make sure you eat your meals even if you’re tired.” is what Zion.T said in his song Eat. Now then, do I have a choice other than to listen?

It’s been a long time since I tried to introduce some comics/manga. And I have truly struggled with this particular one. I felt like whatever I wrote didn’t make its awesomeness justice and it still doesn’t. Better read it themselves I would say ^^

“Would you like to buy a heart?” said a young girl with braided hair. One of her small hands held basket full of shiny red hearts while other was extended in front of her offering one of them as if to us. This is the first page of short comic Hearts for Sale that already with its first few pages gives off warm feelings thanks to usage of red and brown colors.

The story continues when within the busy crowd one man takes interest in girl’s merchandise but instead of buying new, tall gentleman wants to have the old one repaired. The girl with a smile on her face direct him to Heartsmith.

There we learn what problem the gentleman has. His wedding is nearing and his heart is uncapable of love. Would the Hearsmith be able to repair his severely damaged heart?

My favorite character is Heartsmith who is unmistakably the most shining of them all. His heart is very big and beautiful. He is capable to empathize with sorrow of others. He doesn’t hesitate to help them with smile on his face. Joy of sacrifices he makes for others seems to outshine his loss. How awesome is he? How come there is no selfishness in him?

The world, where the comic takes place, takes business of hearts very literally, what is concept very fresh and unique. Even so, later you will find it was meant to be used as a metaphor all along to convey a message. Hearts for Sale is story filled with wamth, warm-hearted characters, gratefulness, teaching one a lesson in process and leaving in a short amount of time big impact.
