Good Morning Miss Undercover Chapter 10

When we reached Deng Long’s private club called “Ben”, which was situated on the edge of Qingshan Xiushui, it was already close to 2 AM morning. I was groggy like a sick chicken. My body was slightly burning, but I have always been optimistic. After shaking off my negative thoughts, I jumped out of the car.

Of course, I took off Kang Zi Xian’s suit. Attired in a man’s clothes to take on a man, not only my momentum will look weakened a tad bit but it will also hinder my movement. This club was a small building with a European style architecture, crawled with vines of ivy. The exterior looked ordinary, you could even call it run-down. But to one’s surprise, its interior had an extremely distinctive flavor.

It was reasonable to say that “Meise” was already immensely extravagant. Yet, compared with this “Ben”, it was a total cowshed. Their level was too different.

Kang Zi Xian entered inside without any hindrance. When a person who looked like the manager saw him, he approached him to politely greet him. Kang Zi Xian didn’t bother with pleasantries. He directly asked him where was Deng Long. Then, he led me upstairs with large strides.

I was following him, inwardly amazed about how come this man had a damned boss aura.  My heart immediately became sour. I suddenly remembered, in order to give material assistance to Fei Ge, buy a house and live a well-off life, my assets had already turned negative.

Two minutes later, I stood at the door with wide eyes, not believing what I saw. I was very angry.

The comrade Dongzi was alright. His chrysanthemum was also alright. During those few hours while I was worried about him because his phone was shut off, this guy had a cigarette dangling from his mouth and was playing cards amid the cloud of smoke, playing till he forgot that he was still that person, who had once made a vow that he will become a civil police, who will forever serve for people.

It was understandable to be angry but this place was evil monsters’ nest. There was no time for me to snap. The most important thing was to get this fellow, Dongzi, out of this hole. Otherwise, he would lose everything till he only had his briefs left. If that happened, not mentioning his undercover job, he should be glad for not being thrown into a nightclub and pay off his debt by working as a prostitute.

The four gamblers in the room were energetically gambling. I exclaimed contrivedly : “You devil, you actually came here. It’s time to take a medicine. Do you still want to live?”

When Dongzi saw me, he was so shocked he was gaping at me with a mouth opened so wide that a big egg would fit inside. Swaying my hips, I entered inside with a flustered expression and, in a shrewish way, I grabbed Dongzi’s ear and gave it a sharp twist. Hearing a pig slaughter like howling, my heart immediately felt better.

I looked at Deng Long, who was sitting opposite Dongzi, and gave him a sweet and charming smile. His expression was cold, but I wasn’t afraid. Justice was on my side, thus, I raised my voice and said: “Boss, my companion has a somewhat poor health. He can’t stay up all night. He has to take the medicine daily, in order to preserve that dear life of his.” I scowled at Donzi, indicating him to put an effort to this play, “Look at this devil, he’s ill but he always forgets to take his medicine, making me go all the way here to bring it to him.”

My sudden appearance evidently displeased Deng Long. He threw the cards in his hand, stared at me and asked me in a deep voice, “Who brought you inside?”

“Me.” Kang Zi Xian replied while leaning against the door, his posture dashing. He used his chin to point at me, “I was touched by a lover who went over thousand miles to deliver her dear’s medicine.”

Even though I was anxious, I still couldn’t help myself from being disgusted by his words. However, this person was still somewhat reliable. I cast a grateful look at him.

When Deng Long saw Kang Zi Xian, his expression softened a little. He taunted him with a cold face, “When did you become so damn friendly?”

Kang Zi Xian’s lips lifted into a smile. The fatty, Su Jing Wei, who was sitting at the side, interrupted, “Recently, both of you became very friendly. We should make a proper investigation to find out why. Is it the thing that William Shakespeare calls love?”

“Reid!”

“Shut up!”

The two men almost at the same time stopped the fatty from talking nonsenses. The fatty raised his hand to make a surrender gesture, “Ok, ok. Don’t be so excited. Pretend like I said nothing.” He took a sip of wine and said in a bored tone, “Recently, I feel quite confused. It’s just that I have read few of his poems.”

Kang Zi Xian pulled his tie and said faintly, “I doubt he can help you.”

Deng Long coldly snorted, “How come you’re normally such a blockhead but when on the court you’re so sharp? When the old geezer Shakespeare was writing these stuff, maybe he was still a greenhorn.”

I and Dongzi looked at each other, dumbfounded. What was the situation now? Shakespeare’s poetry workshop? Weren’t our lives supposed to be hung on the line now? Weren’t we supposed to be in the deadlock? Yet, it seemed like Dongzi and me, this pair of “the pitiful mandarin ducks”, had been completely ignored. When I was about to pull at Dongzi and leave, Kang Zi Xian over there swept a sharp glance at me. He fixed his attention on me and said inadvertently, “I didn’t drive for an hour to invite you to listen about Shakespeare.”

I bowed and smiled at Deng Long, saying, “Hehe. Boss, I will go to feed my companion a medicine. You guys continue, continue.”

“Thank you, boss, for your hospitality. That b-boss, I’m going to take my medicine. Let’s……..see you tomorrow.” Dongzi was smart enough to stand up and play with me. Deng Long stayed there motionless with an imposing aura. He watched us leaving hand in hand with a frown, his posture sinister. It was a little scary.

When I walked over to the door, while brushing past Kang Zixian, I whispered, “Thank you.” In order to retaliate him for disgusting me a moment ago, I added, “You’re not only beautiful from outside, your inside is even more beautiful.” Afterward, I dragged Dongzi and fled with large strides.

When we walked to the corner of stairs where nobody would pass, I finally exploded. I pushed Dongzi, who was trembling with fear, against the wall. The bright mirrors reflected my bloodshot eyes. My anger could not be concealed. Dongzi, who looked dismayed, shuddered. He clasped both of his hands and begged for forgiveness, “Senior sister……”

I glared at him. Leaning closer, I warned him in a low voice, “Did you bring the brain with you when you went outside today? Be clear about where you are before calling me! Remember, I am now your girlfriend.”

Dongzi probably woke up from the gambling daze. He kept nodding and replied, “Senior…….oh. I understand.”

“You have guts, to hang on me.”

“No, no. I can explain. That Deng fellow was unhappy that I always took out my phone, so he forced me to turn it off.”

“Do you have a pig brain? He tells you not to use it and you actually listen to him. Why can’t you find an excuse and go to the toilet to call me?”

“I wanted to, but my phone was confiscated by him. I’m innocent.”

“What? Then what about the phone? He has it?”

“It……it seems so.”

I couldn’t help myself and slapped this moron’s skull. I truly wanted to engrave the word “moron” on his forehead. I was so angry that a smoke was about to emit from my head.

“Aiyo, sister……sister…..hurts.”

“Hurts, hurts, hurts. You should feel lucky your chrysanthemum doesn’t hurt.” I pulled at him, ”Go, go inside and fetch your phone.”

Dongzi didn’t comply, “Senior sister, I’m afraid….”

I couldn’t help myself and slapped him once again. I fiercely said, “Now you’re afraid. You didn’t seem to be afraid when you were gambling with a cigarette dangling from your mouth. You need a beating!”

I quietly reprimanded Dongzi. At this time, suddenly, a clear sound of lighter clicking could be heard coming from the corner. It made me jump out of my skin. I turned in the direction the sound was coming from. I didn’t know how long was Kang Zi Xian leaning on the wall, one meter away from us, with his head down, playing with the cigarette lighter in his hand.

Pa-da. Pa-da. The lighter was opening and closing, perfectly fitting with his cold and grim face. My heartbeat accelerated.

My brain was in a temporary blank state. Then, I came to my senses. I gave a push to the startled Dongzi, who stood by my side, indicating him to go inside and take his phone and that I will deal with Kang Zi Xian. Dongzi peered at Kang Zi Xian and then fled, like a little rabbit. I strode toward Kang Zi Xian and stood in front of him with a long face. I questioned him with a lowered voice, “Kang guy, what is the meaning of this? Secretly listening to others’ conversation, just when a moment ago I praised you for being good-hearted?”

He raised his head, “It was your wishful thinking.” He pointed forward, “You were blocking the way.”

He again started to play with the lighter. “Hence, it wasn’t a wise choice to talk about such confidential things here.” I had nothing to say since it was me who was careless. I humphed and didn’t look at him anymore.

“But I can understand that as senior sister-junior brother, you are on good terms with each other, and are anxious to speak about your feelings.” He nonchalantly blurted out such a sentence.

In the front, Dongzi has successfully retrieved the phone. I glared at Kang Zi Xian while panting with rage. I waved my head, “I hope we won’t meet each other anymore.” I was still not satisfied. I turned my head to add, “I take back what I just said. From head to toes, from inside to outside, you’re not beautiful. Not at all!”

I could hear a deep and light-hearted chuckle coming from behind. In the silent late night, it sounded seductive and alluring. I held back from pouting and went downstairs.
