The Big Shot’s Girlfriend Is a Demoness chapter 10

The Big Shot’s Girlfriend Is a Demoness translation

When Mo Li saw the leopard awaken, she was still a little bit intimidated.

After all, it was a ferocious and carnivorous wild animal. Its sharp claws and teeth were a clear indication of its dangerous nature.

Luoxi pulled on the vines and spoke to the leopard about their situation regardless of whether it understood her or not. She used the mixture of carrot and stick approach when chattering with him.

Li Mo who was listening to them at the side blushed with shame.

Just recently, Luoxi had the intention to eat it, but now she has become its savior. She even instructed the leopard to obediently wait for rescue or else she would continue to knock it out.

If the leopard could understand her, it would probably spit blood out of anger.

Luoxi kept talking, trying to persuade the leopard. As the leopard didn’t lash out in anger, Li Mo’s fear started to subside.

Li Mo observed the leopard and felt that it possessed intelligence, as if it could truly comprehend human language. Additionally, there were its eyes. Its almond-shaped eyes were gazing at Luoxi, revealing a complex and indescribable emotion.

This anthropomorphic gaze and intelligence made Li Mo remember the nurse shark and she wondered if it was because of Luoxi’s peculiar constitution. Her natural affinity with animals was truly remarkable.

Luoxi dragged the two people and one leopard, swimming towards the south where the impact of the tsunami was less severe and there was an island present.

The leopard shifted, indicating to Luoxi to let it go as it was capable of swimming on its own, lightening her load.

In the end, Luoxi didn’t understand its hints at all. She narrowed her eyes and grinned: “If you keep struggling, I’ll knock you out.”

The leopard was angry. But when it saw her handling a butcher’s cleaver easily1 in the sea without much effort, it gave up. It leaned over the trunk lifelessly and floated on the sea in a tied-up state.

After an hour of drifting, an island appeared in front of them.

Xie Ze shouted in excitement, “Land, it’s a land!”

He woke up during the middle of their journey. Xie Ze felt both grateful and ashamed to see that it was Luoxi and Li Mo, two girls, who had saved him. Despite being a grown man, he was not as helpful as the two girls.

Xie Ze was aware of his swimming abilities, so when he woke up, he didn’t let his self-esteem get in the way and cause any problems. He leaned against the tree trunk and trod water. Luoxi had been dragging them and swimming for over an hour.

He went from initial embarrassment to worry and then to complete shock.

Luoxi has been dragging them while swimming for over an hour, yet she still appeared to be just as energetic and full of life as before. She showed no signs of fatigue, indicating that she had likely trained for long-distance swimming before.

Xie Ze was firmly convinced. With such capability, if Luoxi practiced properly, she could be a candidate for a gold medal in the Olympics. He wondered why she chose the more difficult path and entered the entertainment industry instead. He hoped that she had not been deceived by Ba Tian Entertainment.

Li Mo also breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing the island, as it was a better alternative to floating on the sea.

The three people and the leopard reached the shore of another seemingly deserted island, which was in shambles, apparently also ravaged by the tsunami. But it was still in better shape compared to the previous island.

Li Mo, disregarding her image, collapsed onto the ground and muttered, “Why did I have to choose the difficult path and join this program…?”

Absentmindedly, Xie Ze replied, “To scheme against Ba Tian Entertainment?”

Li Mo: “……”

What nonsense was he spouting? Fortunately, the golden ball that was filming them was destroyed in the battle with the tsunami, otherwise, it would have been embarrassing if it was recorded.

Li Mo rolled her eyes at Xie Ze. From the corners of her eyes, she noticed a golden glint in the sky. It flew toward them in a rocking motion and looked very familiar.

Li Mo recognized that the object about to crash soon was the golden ball. She didn’t even know who it was responsible to follow and record. She was surprised that it had survived the tsunami and followed them all the way to the island.

“….F*ck.” She swore lowly. Were those words just now recorded?

The golden ball flew in front of the three people, looking like it would fall apart soon, but still faithfully performing its duty and capturing close-ups of Luoxi. It flew around her, shooting shots from afar to close proximity, while also recording the other people.

Amused, Xie Ze said to Luoxi, “I guess you’re not a marine person now. You have a koi composition2. Your luck is off the charts. Even your camera device survived.”

Luoxi retorted with a straight face, “What nonsense are you talking about? Feudal superstitions aren’t reliable. It’s because the device has good quality. You should have faith in science.”

Xie Ze and Li Mo: “…….”

You’re the only one who doesn’t seem to make sense. A nurse shark has been sending you food, and it was reformed by you. A leopard that doesn’t bite people is also still lying here.

Both of them ranted in their hearts as they glanced at the leopard from the corner of their eyes. But that glance made them alarmed.

“F*ck, where did the leopard go?” Xie Ze sat up in shock.

Li Mo stared at the paw prints on the ground and asked hesitantly: “Did it leave on its own?”

What was even more surprising was that it had left without making a sound. It indeed belonged to the feline family.

The corner of Luoxi’s mouth fell, “…….my reward.”

Li Mo tried to comfort her. “The island is small, it’s still here. When the rescue arrives, it will be reported and your reward will still be yours.”

Luoxi only gave a disheartened “uhm” in response.

Li Mo thought to herself that the leopard was surprisingly clever. It had already made it to the shore, yet instead of attacking them, it had left on its own. Could it have sensed Luoxi’s insatiable hunger and run away to save its own life? But the way this leopard appeared was peculiar, and the more Li Mo thought about it, the more fishy it seemed to her.

Li Mo had concerns about the leopard’s behavior, but with the sky quickly darkening, she had no time to dwell on it.

Li Mo felt it was weird. However, the sky was quickly darkening, so she had no time to dwell on the leopard.

Originally, during the summer, the days were long, and it was typically still bright like daytime at 6 or 7 PM. But due to today’s earthquake and tsunami, the sky had already become dusky at this time and was about to turn dark.

This deserted island was not as good as the one chosen by the production crew. It was part of a group of islets with limited vegetation and no human habitation. Once the sky turns dark, there would be no light source, and if the rescue team doesn’t find them, they would have to spend the night on the island.

The terrain was stony. There wasn’t even a place to lie down. How were they going to spend tonight……

……..

‘Sob. You’ve finally come to find me….’

‘Quickly come down. I’m underneath the sea.’

‘Sob sob sob. Why are you dawdling? Come quickly.’

The familiar sound of sobbing suddenly echoed in her mind. Luoxi slightly furrowed her brow.

To her surprise, the voice turned out to be clearer than before, indicating that its location was closer to her place.

When the voice realized that Luoxi was ignoring it, its low, anxious sobbing turned into loud crying. The only thing missing was trying to make a scene and act shamelessly.

Luoxi’s face took a ghastly expression. She knew that fellow was no longer willing to compromise. Maybe he couldn’t wait anymore. He seemed to have either the fish die or the net splits3 sort of mentality.

“Stay here. I’ll go to find Mo Nan and others.” At the end of her patience, Luoxi got up and headed toward the sea. She was determined to find Mo Nan and the others and to put an end to the sobbing trouble.

“It’s getting dark…..it’s very dangerous. You, pay attention to your safety.”

Li Mo and Xie Ze were deeply worried and didn’t want her to go as it was too hard to find people in the vast sea all alone. However, they were unable to say such things. They were safe for now, but they still didn’t know whether Mo Nan and the party were alive or not. Luoxi may not be able to find them, but what if……

Luoxi nodded. Suddenly, she reached out and grabbed the golden ball that was flying beside her. She passed it to Li Mo, “Turn it off.”

Although Li Mo didn’t understand why she wanted to do so, she still took it and pressed the power switch. However, nothing happened.

“It’s not working. It seems to be broken and won’t turn off. Let it fly, the MAX company won’t care if something happens to it.”

Luoxi remained silent. She located a hole in the rocky beach and threw the golden ball inside. She then covered the hole with a rock, sealing it tightly. The golden ball flew within the small, narrow hole and collided with its walls, producing banging sounds.

Xie Ze: “….you’ve locked it in a little dark room4. Is there something it cannot film?”

Luoxi made a tiny smile, “Take a guess.”

Xie Ze: “……” Is this really the time to play guessing games?”

Li Mo pushed him a little and handed him a branch, “Don’t cause trouble. Luoxi will go find people. Be mindful of your safety and don’t overexert yourself. We’ll make an SOS sign. Draw it a little bigger now, before it gets dark. This way, if there’s an air rescue, they’ll be able to spot it more easily.”

Xie Ze was interrupted, so he stopped questioning Luoxi closely.

Luoxi stood on the beach, assessed the direction, and then dove into the sea.

About half an hour later, Li Mo and the party could no longer see Luoxi’s figure.

“She must have received training in swimming in the past. With such a level, perhaps she had even entered a provincial team.” Xie Ze drew an SOS sign while muttering under his nose.

Li Mo did not answer him and continued to draw in silence. Today, she has first gone through Deserted Island Survival and then the tsunami. All of these had already exhausted her. Only her strong will to live kept her going.

After mumbling to himself for some time, Xie Ze suddenly paused and turned to look at the sea: “….singing?”

“What singing?” Li Mo looked up.

“Hush, listen.”

That voice was barely audible and seemed to come from a faraway place. They couldn’t determine which language it was. It was too far away from them. They could only, occasionally, catch one or two indiscernible syllables. They didn’t understand its meaning, yet the singing was inexplicably beautiful, making one want to indulge in it.

As the two of them were listening intently, the voice suddenly stopped. The only sound that echoed in the air was the noise of waves hitting the shore. The singing voice from earlier seemed like a figment of their imagination.

“We must have heard wrong, right… Maybe it was the sound of the wind blowing over the rocks. The wind is strong today. Sometimes you’ll experience such a phenomenon,” Li Mo said casually.

Xie Ze was disappointed, “Oh. I thought that I could meet a mermaid.”

According to legend, when storms hit, mermaids would emerge from the sea and make the sailing ships run out of control with their beautiful singing voices. If they took a liking to a particular sailor, they would drag them into the water and drown them.

Li Mo gazed at him in disbelief: “I never realized your inner self was so princess-like.”

Xie Ze chuckled mischievously, “Why? Can’t a man enjoy these kinds of things? You are discriminating men.”

Li Mo rolled her eyes. The two drew an SOS sign while chatting with each other.

On the other side of the islet not far from them, the leopard shook its ears. Its round head was gazing towards the southern part of the sea.

It narrowed its eyes and listened to the faint sound that had traveled to it through the air, seeming to enjoy it a little. Compared to ordinary humans, the leopard had much better hearing.

Once the singing voice faded, the leopard flicked its tail. A contemplation flashed through those almond eyes.

Oh, this voice…..sounds familiar.
